Week 14

This week I received an invitation from Assoc. Prof. Dr. Koo Ah Choo of Multimedia University (MMU) to apply for a research position in the RIPHEN Joint Research Project Digital Futures.

This project is held by Management and Science University (MSU) and is basically a project where various private universities send their representatives to do work and research on a project that will be combined with the other participant's projects as part of a larger project/idea.

My air quality monitor will be a component in the Digital Futures project which proposes the design of a smart city that focuses on sustainability and Eco-friendly concepts.

Week 13

This week, I continued to work on my research paper.

I had some inquiries on the proper way to format citations and references throughout my research, which was sorted out after Dr. Sabry gave his insight on the matter.

Week 12

This week is the Defense Proposal presentation week for all FYP 1 students in UniKL BMI. After I had prepared my slides and points throughout last week, I presented my FYP project proposal to Sir Muhammad Rosli and Dr. Noor Hasmiza on 3/11/2021 at 9:00 a.m. in the morning.

The presentation went pretty well, as both Sir Rosli and Dr. Hasmiza understood what I wished to accomplish with my project, and how the air quality monitor is supposed to work.

However, Sir Rosli inquired on how the LIDAR system will be able to differentiate between the various types of gases that my monitor will detect, to which my answer was that so far based on my research, the LIDAR system can only map the concentration of pollutants in the air via 3D mapping. Also, Dr. Hasmiza commented on how some of my objectives should be replaced with something that will reflect more on the results I wish to achieve in Chapter 4.
