Week 7

This week I entered another online workshop for FYP which explains how to write chapters 4 & 5 of the project report/thesis.

Chapter 4 will contain Results (or analysis) of the project while Chapter 5, also the last chapter of the thesis is the Conclusion.

Apart from that, I continued to read more on similar projects.

Week 6

This week I sent my abstract to Dr. Sabry for him to review and make amendments. I was also informed that the grant for my FYP project is in the works and should be approved in the next few weeks so that the parts/components for the project can be ordered soon.

Apart from that, I went through some research papers on projects that are similar to mine to understand how they wrote their report, how they designed their air quality monitoring devices, and how they did their analysis to obtain results.

Week 5

This week, I attended the second workshop for FYP which describes in greater detail how I should go about writing my report. The workshop provided insight on what to do and what not to do when writing the first three chapters of the thesis.

Chapter 1 shall contain the Introduction, while chapter 2 the Literature Review and chapter 3 the Methodology.

I also have mostly finished writing my abstract, which explains in general the problems I wish to tackle with my project and it's main objective. I noted how there isn't a way for us humans to naturally measure the quality of our air and how an air quality monitor can help solve this problem by providing a device that allows us to analyze the constituents of the air surrounding us.

Week 4

This week I mostly revised Python programming tutorials and videos to improve basic understanding so I know how to write the code for my project later.

Python works similarly to Basic C, but some its functions are a bit different from basic C. (For example, the 'printf' function on Basic C is 'print' on Python.)

It is also said that Python is much easier to use for beginners compared to other similar programming languages as it has less risks of running into syntax errors and has an easier learning curve.

On the other hand, I have started drafting my project abstract.
